Welcome to our beginners clinic on Japanese sword fundamentals, designed specifically for those with no prior experience in the art of Japanese swordsmanship. This four session clinic will prepare you for participation in our regular training sessions in Yagyu Shinkage Ryu kenjutsu. In this workshop, you will embark on a journey through the rich history and culture of the samurai, while learning the essential techniques and principles of handling a Japanese sword. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the basics of stance, grip, and striking, ensuring a safe and engaging introduction to this revered martial art. Whether you're here out of curiosity, for physical fitness, or to deepen your appreciation for Japanese culture, this clinic will provide you with a solid foundation and an unforgettable experience. Open to participants aged 16 and older A missed class may be made up in a concurrently running JSF session. Classes must align (i.e. missed class 2 may only be made up in an available class 2 session of another JSF course.
